Well, 2020 didn’t turn out as we all expected, but we are having to make do with visits to the boat at the moment. At least we have that now, as we were not allowed onto the pontoons for some weeks. Just before the lock down we were meant to have Hurkur lifted and put in the yard, so she was ready to go with her genoa removed and other canvas work, etc. But luckily we cancelled in time, and have now re-arranged for a short stay in the yard with a lift on July 13th and re-launch on 22nd. Enough time to anti foul, polish the hull, clean the prop (and possibly swap for the old one) etc…..
Meanwhile Eddie has painted all the deck and she looks very smart, he’s also been doing the rubbing strake and hand rails. Only thing left now is to polish topsides, which we’ve started on.
Eddie decided to cover up the little bits of white gelcoat to make it easier to maintain, still looks just as good. Once we have been re-launched, hope to get out for a few sails over the summer, but unlikely we will go anywhere else this year.
