Taking advantage of good weather

Took Hurkur out on Monday 7th and Thursday 10th Sept last week. We are enjoying a lovely September this year (like the Spring) so decided to get some fishing done. On Monday the sea wasn’t as flat as we had hoped so we went to ‘Elphicks Tree’ just off Eastbourne and drifted. Eddie caught some Bream and Mackerel, enough for a pie and paté!

On Thursday the sea was calmer and we motor sailed out (wind on the nose) to Four Fathoms Sand Ridge off Hastings and Fairlight, which took about 2 hours, then drifted again for a couple of hours. It is the place to get Plaice! Eddie caught a few nice ones plus some good sized mackerel. Weather was lovely, sunny and warm and very quiet out there, hardly any boats around. Alas no photos to prove the catch!
