It’s been a while …

There’s been no sailing for us for a while now, hubby was diagnosed with a heart problem last year (2022) and told no pulling of ropes, etc. so that was that. We have been keeping her ship shape and the occasional movement in the marina. We did go out one day last year and try using a cordless drill with attachment in the winches to haul up the main sail, was ok up to a point, but couldn’t manage the last yard or so, which of course is the hardest bit. At least Hurkur was on the sea briefly!

Now Eddie has had his operation and on the mend slowly, so we shall wait and see what next year brings. I am suffering with osteoarthritis of the spine and osteoporosis which incapacitates me a fair bit, which doesn’t help.

In the meantime this summer has been nothing to write home about, we don’t feel we have missed much. Our sailing friends have spent a slot of time waiting around in marinas for the next small window of good weather, which seems to be the norm these days. Have the winds increased or is it just me? Global warming maybe.

This is just an update to keep the site going, I hope there will be more to tell in the future.
