At last!

Well what a Winter we’ve all had, but now there is light at the end of the tunnel, and we can all start to get back to almost normal (fingers crossed) after the pandemic. We have been fortunate that we live near our boat so have been able to visit from time to time, and last week we managed to even get out for a brief sail. The weather has been sunny, but constant cold winds, however last Monday 19th April conditions were lovely for a test sail, trying out everything. We discovered the GPS wasn’t working, so had to buy a couple of new antenna, Eddie has now got it all up and running again. We have made new fender covers over the winter, and recently cleaned all the canvas work (good old Patio Magic).

Hurkur is now looking quite spruce topsides, just a bit of weed hanging down below, so we’ll probably have to bite the bullet and get her lifted for a quick scrub down and jet wash, then straight back in. She can come out for a proper maintenance in the Autumn. Not planning any trips across the channel this year, mostly due to the fact Covid is still pretty rife in Europe. However we hope to get along to at least Brighton or maybe a bit further like Chichester, but of course everyone else will be doing the same, so we’ll try to book ahead, even if we have to stick to Premier Marinas, will be nice to just get away for a while.

There’s a few photos below just to add interest!
