Hurkur was lifted out on 27th February after much fuss, we were due for 10.30 am, but they wanted to move us to 2pm. Also our friends with Blue Diamond had been booked in at the same time as us! There was a lot of confusion about which time and what boat, but in the end we were lifted more or less on time. Unfortunately the administration of the boat yard is a shambles, and after about 6 weeks there is no improvement. There has been damage done, contractors waiting for boats to come out of the water to do work, and people not knowing when or if their boat will be lifted or launched. All due no doubt to lack of staff. Anyway we are due back in this Sunday 7th April, so fingers crossed!! We’ve got on and done everything in good time, helped by the nice weather – antifouling, painting, cleaning and polishing, repairs, etc.
We had a holiday in Tenerife before Hurkur was lifted, which was great, and also managed a little get together with boating friends in the Yacht Club. Now looking forward to getting back on the water and preparing to go away (Brexit be damned!)
