Winter hibernation

Although we haven’t been out sailing, we have been doing jobs on the boat, namely getting all the hatches re-glazed.   We took them to a chap in Maidstone who did a great job. Eddie had to take down the wooden lining on the saloon roof to get to one of them and made up wooden ‘hatches’ to go in whilst they were away, leak proof and very effective.  Also after a visit to the Southampton Boat Show we splashed out on a new super-duper bespoke mattress for our bed in the rear cabin, hoping this will help my back problems.  It is fully sprung and firm and fitted in with a very tight squeeze, and has a hinge down the middle so we can access the lockers under.

Next job is to get to grips with replacement hoses in the heads, which should be delivered today.   A horrible job but necessary – poor Eddie!
