We held our WOA South East Cluster Brighton Rally over the weekend of 11th and 12th July. We left on the Friday before with Enigma II, as it was a good forecast. Had a lovely sail to Beachy Head then motorsailed the rest of the way. Starquest arrived later on as well, and we were all berthed on the visitors pontoon. Previous to leaving Sovereign we had a lift and wash off on Thursday, which made our hull super slippery through the water!!
Saturday was a very windy day but three boats made it, Tregunna from Eastbourne, Moontide from Newhaven, and Coral Moon from Gosport, so well done to them! We had a drinks and nibbles get together before our meal at the Brighton Marina Yacht Club, where 21 people sat down – a good turn out. Julie made our table look very nice with a nautical theme. Unfortunately the weather went even more downhill during Sunday and Monday so most went home and left the boats behind. We stuck it out until Wednesday with Martyn & Anne on Starquest, when the forecast at last improved. We sailed back with Enigma (John & Brian) and Starquest left later to head for Portsmouth.
